Darshna Mahila Kalyan Samiti was founded in 1995 and registered as a society in 1999. Ever since then it is working among poor, dalit and neglected classes of the society and satisfactorily emerged as a friend of the masses.
The organisation began with holding various training programmes for economic uplift of unemployed poor women like synthetic durries weaving, improved vegetable production, agarbatti production, clay art, etc.
After the organisation’s registration in 1999, Darshna associated itself with the organisations engaged in rural development, central and state governments and started complementing their work. At present it is making efforts towards self-reliance, economic uplift and social uplift of the society through awareness generation and policy level changes.
During its journey, Darshna has catalysed community action and the community has done some remarkable work:

- Construction of delivery room at the health centre, managed by the community
- Digging of public well by Radha Self Help Group members at Khanjan Purwa and Lakshmi SHG members at Pathuwa Purwa
