Darshna adopts the following strategy in its work:
- Knowing real condition of the villages through participatory rural appraisal (PRA) and baseline survey
- Formulating programmes through participatory planning that includes meetings with people and dialogue with them and implement the same
- Imparting information about schemes through various extension means like campaign material, street plays, kala jattha, posters, exhibitions, rallies and exposure visits
- Building capacity of people through training programmes
- Carrying out organizational and constructive works through groups
- Taking initiatives to ensure that benefits of government schemes reach the needy
- Making participatory efforts for conservation of water, forest, land, animal and environment
- Making efforts to maintain sustainability in the organisational activities
- Conducting various public relation works through trained social workers
- Motivating women to participate in panchayati raj scheme
- Making efforts to link people with produce/market/bank for sustainability of livelihood and protecting them from middlemen
- Conducting health related awareness programmes so people may remain healthy
